Freelance roving reporter/Broadcast Journalist for BBC Radio Leeds, I've also worked for BBC Radio 2, Radio 4 and the World Service.
I'm also a Presenter on breakfast, news and magazine shows on BCB 106.6fm – Regional Radio station of the Year 2013 and 2014.
An interview I did with a UKIP Councillor specifically mentioned in the award citation:
“Fast, fun and lively, BCB 106.6fm is never afraid to challenge. The interview with the successful UKIP councillor was outstanding and underlines the bravery running through the station..."
I'm all about people and their stories, combining this with my extensive knowledge and understanding of politics, news, current affairs and life. I take a very individual and non confrontational approach to hosting conversations and interviewing people whilst not shying away from asking challenging questions where appropriate, or really getting to the heart of the matter with the people I'm talking to. I actually get politicians to answer questions, and I try to make people laugh and smile where we can.
“You did genuinely make me feel Wow! Perhaps I’ve done something here! So whatever your technique or personality you do bring out the best in people!” Comment from one interviewee.

As well as news and current affairs I am also really interested in health and wellbeing issues and travel. I have travelled extensively, including recently spending a year budget backpacking around the world on my self titled Mid-Life Crisis Global Adventure. And I am also a successful dieter having previously lost nearly 8 stone in weight, kept it off since and developed a weight management solution.
